Licensed Advancement Program softWARE (LAPWARE) is the most complete license advancement program for studying, preparing and testing for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) license multiple choice exam questions. LAPWARE was developed by Richard M. Plant and Captain Joseph S. Murphy, II.
The combination of Joseph Murphy and Richard Plant in developing LAPWARE makes this program second to none. LAPWARE allows users to study all of the Deck license exam book sections (Rules of the Road, Deck General, Navigation General, Safety and Navigation Problems). LAPWARE can be used by mariners for ALL levels of license exams as well as by unlicensed mariners to study for Lifeboatman and Able Bodied Seaman certification.
LAPWAREallows the user:
1) unlimited access via the Internet to ALL of the USCG questions in their data base, with
2) no review limit, grade or time lock, and
3) at a reasonable cost, allowing
4) students to review questions selected by category as desired and,
5) displaying solutions for diagrams and mathematical problems. And there is much more!
Candidates can study at home eliminating time away from home, as well as, costly travel and lodging expenses. The authors, however, recommend that students use LAPWARE in conjunction with a structured training program to develop the knowledge base necessary. LAPWARE is NOT a study and memorize question program as is used at many maritime schools. As professionals, we want to see mariners learn the skills necessary to competently serve as a certified and qualified merchant mariner or officer. This concept is very important to the authors!
No other license exam program on the market even comes close to LAPWARE. We hope you enjoy it and find it useful and beneficial. Tell your fellow mariners about it. Let us know your comments. And what is next? ENGINEERING EXAMS, questions, solutions and references.
Any course requiring a data pool of multiple choice questions can utilize the LAPWARE shell program. For those interested in using the LAPWARE shell for other courses, or their own question data pool, please feel free to email either of the authors. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE that LAPWARE requires the use of the latest version of Netscape and Internet Explorer (IE) for your browser. However, we have found that Internet Explorer is more stable when running LAPWARE. Therefore, we recommend the use of IE! Also, you must have installed Adobe Acrobat Reader, Multimedia Flash and CopySafePro plugin for your browser. You will be informed if your computer is in need of having these programs installed. These programs allow full use of the LAPWARE program and protect the authors work. Appropriate links will be provided for you to download these files when needed. ALL of these programs/plugins are FREE!
